Supply Chain Planning Manager
Our client is one of the largest Retail operators within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and was set up as 100% Saudi Capital Enterprise through its parent company. Established in the eighties, it success and brand recognition has been generated from creating a wide range and diversity of its good and services. Employing over 4,000 people, it now offers the consumer more that 80,000 SKUs and has been recognised and awarded a number of awards in recent years. They have operations across many of the Gulf States and North Africa.
Our Client has become a cash rich business looking to compete with other global leaders by investing in all areas of the retail sector. Their investment strategy is becoming more process driven and commercially focused. They are looking to the UK for the skills they need for future growth. They are seeking for a talented individual to join the business as Supply Chain Planning Manager.
Reporting to the Stores Operations Director you will have responsibility for all activity within the Supply Chain and Planning through the business.
You must have a detailed understanding of strategic forecasting and demand planning and confident in your abilities to change systems and process within the current operation. If you have a proven track record within the Food and Drink, Leisure and Hospitality or FMCG market coupled with significant experience within any blue chip retail operator, this could be for you.

The environment will be fast paced and demanding, and your workload and responsibility significant from the beginning. You must be adaptable to culture and respectful of others within the team. There will be times when you will be required to travel. As a Supply Chain Inventory Manager you will develop strong supplier relationships with your business brands, constantly looking at ways to improve the supply chain, stock availability, strategic objectives and implement project planning and priority solutions to manage launch deadline and brand consistency.
At the beginning, you will have limited resources and data, and you will collect and organise the necessary information as you work through the problems. Your liaison with the Operations Director to develop a code of working practices and procedures which will facilitate a streamlined, efficient and successful working environment. Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Management of the supply of stock through distribution warehouses ensuring optimum levels are attained to ensure availability levels for customer demand.
- Working closely with the purchasing team over the promotional and non-promotional stock levels.
- Accountability for Warehouse and Distribution management personnel achieving KPI targets.
- Drive improvements in a timely and cost effective manor.
- Improve depot to store service.
- Category range reviews within timescales.
- Improve forecast accuracy
- Management of supply base while focusing on the reduction of suppliers.
- Portfolio management of 14,000 SKU’s
- Analysis and reaction to commodity trends.
- The analysis and monitoring of sales, trends and economic conditions to determine the size of the inventory needed.
- Links with the Sales Department and other purchasing personnel to determine customer needs and preferences.
- The organisation and location of the inventory through the use of the company database
- The allocation of products to each store.
Applicants should have a strong academic background and ideally professional memberships with CILT, CIPS or equivalent institutes. You will have excellent skills in oral and written English and be very comfortable with writing and presenting study reports.
