Senior Fire Engineer

Our client is an International Engineering company who provides Fire Engineering design and risk assessment services worldwide. Their reputation is based on ability to solve problems and create value as effective design members. As a result of their expansion they are seeking a suitable candidate to join at a senior level within their team in a number of locations.
 
This role is to work as part of a vibrant and enthusiastic team, taking a lead role in project work, focused on production and client liaison and mentoring and coaching junior members of the team.


Responsibilities
• Meet with clients to discuss new project opportunities.
• Prepare fee proposals for new projects.
• Lead and manage the delivery of projects, including the coordination of work across internal teams.
• Contribute to the works of the Fire Engineering Technical Committee.
• Attend conferences and report back on proceedings to the whole Fire Engineering team.
• On occasion, travel overseas to deliver support on International projects.
• Prepare Fire Engineering strategy reports for all stages of projects.
• Actively participate in project reviews and the peer review of other team member’s reports.
• Carry out and review simple and complex Fire Engineering calculations.
• Mentor and support junior staff.


Requirements
• An Engineering or Architectural qualification to degree level or equivalent. Fire fighter qualifications and training courses may also be applicable.
• Experience of working in a Fire Engineering team delivering advice on fire safety strategies either as a fire consultant, an insurer representative or from within the approval authorities.
• A good working knowledge of UK fire legislation and guidance documentation.
• A track record of leading small or medium size projects and an ambition to deliver medium, large complex and International projects.
• Experience of client liaison.
• A desire to actively promote team working as part of a National and International te
am.
